About Us
Spazio FormaMentis was founded in 2007 thanks to the collaboration between psychologists and psychotherapists, who embraced the idea of a work approach based on equality and cooperation. Spazio FormaMentis is a
Spazio FormaMentis, with its core activity named Dialektikè, also focuses on promoting well-being in work environments through its training and corporate consulting projects.
An integral part of Spazio FormaMentis’s activities is also the Gamos area, a clinical center dedicated to promoting couple well-being and health, with particular attention to aspects related to sexuality.
Finally, the Agape area focuses on the health and well-being of children, adolescents, and their families. A team specialized in developmental psychology and certified for DSA diagnosis offers psychological and psychotherapeutic support.
The four areas that make up Spazio FormaMentis are as different in target as they are similar in approach, as they are born from the same values shared by the professionals of the Center, forming the basis for work in every field.

Value charter
Who we want to be
SFM is the people who work within it and the bonds between them. Its essence lies in the willingness of SFM professionals to cultivate among themselves a
The “bond in freedom” thrives on trust and generosity, regarding the energies and efforts that each member of SFM puts forth, to work synergistically towards achieving common goals, safeguarding individual initiative.
In a word, what characterizes Spazio FormaMentis is the so-called coopetition, a flexible condition that allows integrating competition and cooperation.
How we want to act
In all our professional activities, we are guided by certain values.
First of all, we want to approach every situation with a predisposition to listening, which characterizes the profession of a psychologist. A non-judgmental listening, in which we remove as much as possible the filters and obstacles, whether these are preconceptions, prejudices, or limitations, that prevent a true and deep understanding of people and relationships.
In this sense, we want to bring openness to our way of working, because, often, shutting something out, excluding, actually means trapping oneself and not allowing ideas and solutions to reach us.
The second cornerstone of our work is represented by rigor and professional ethics, values to always respect, especially for the protection of clients and patients and to ensure consistently high standards. To this end, we also assign great importance to the integration of different approaches, ideas, and viewpoints and the possibility of sharing, intervision, and reciprocity among professionals.
With clients and patients, colleagues and collaborators, we aim to establish relationships based on transparency and authenticity, which allow us to find, together, the most suitable solutions to face different situations, respecting the desires and needs of each person involved.
Your personalized journey
When the need arises to consult a mental health specialist, many doubts and concerns easily arise:
- Will it be the right specialist?
- Is it better to see a psychologist, a psychiatrist, or a psychotherapist?
- How to choose?
- And of which orientation or training school?
- Can I trust them?
- Will it be useful or effective for my problems?
- Will I be able to afford it financially or find the time to follow the path?
To effectively answer all these questions, Spazio FormaMentis, even before offering an intervention, focuses its efforts on welcoming, listening, and orienting according to the client’s needs and requirements, in order to design highly personalized interventions.
The center suggests, in fact, booking an orientation interview, aimed at defining one’s difficulties and identifying change objectives, which will be followed by the indication of an intervention plan and the most suitable professional to address the issue. At the center, numerous mental health specialists (psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, family mediators) collaborate, coming from different therapeutic orientations (cognitive, cognitive-constructivist, cognitive-behavioral, and systemic). The importance attributed to the orientation phase ensures that the client does not encounter an inconsistent path with a consequent waste of time, energy, and financial investment.
For the same client, it may sometimes be necessary to integrate the intervention of different professionals, without having to independently search for the right specialist. For example, it may be necessary to integrate the psychotherapeutic path with pharmacological support; in this case, the Psychotherapist and Psychiatrist will collaborate with the client in building an individualized path, tailored to the specific needs of each person. In other cases, alongside an individual path, couple or family therapy may prove useful.
The client can still independently choose a specific therapist, without accessing the orientation phase, after consulting the profiles of professionals in the dedicated section of the site. The center offers the guarantee of selecting professionals whose specializations and skills can be certified (viewable on the site in the professional CV section).
Costs are in line with those of the National Order of Psychologists and Doctors’ tariff.
It is possible to design personalized paths also from an economic point of view and flexible in terms of schedules, to meet the different needs of work or personal commitments of each individual. Therapists are available six days a week from 9 AM to 9 PM and, working in various locations, as well as at the SFM headquarters, can also offer some flexibility regarding the location where interviews will take place. Moreover, although face-to-face is always preferable, it will be possible to evaluate the possibility of working, for some periods of the path, through Skype or phone interviews.
The orientations
Cognitive-Constructivist Orientation
Cognitivism has developed over the last thirty years, through a close relationship and continuous dialogue with scientific research on the functioning of the brain, mind, and emotions. Cognitive-Constructivist Psychotherapy is an approach to treating psychological suffering and existential distress, which gives particular importance to how each of us thinks and feels: that is, how each person “constructs” their idea or representation of reality, of themselves, and of themselves in relation to others. In this perspective, psychotherapy is centered on recognizing the links (often dysfunctional, rigid, or unbalanced) between thoughts, emotions, somatic sensations, and behavior, in order to make them more flexible and adaptive. The development of greater awareness of one’s functioning also promotes a greater ability to regulate one’s mental and emotional states.
Systemic-Relational Orientation
Systemic-relational therapy focuses attention on the communication process between people, as well as on the peculiar characteristics of the individual. It assumes, therefore, that the management of distress and problems occurs not only through the activation of the individual’s resources but also of their relational context. The systemic-relational approach is distinguished, therefore, by the particular attention given to the “system,” that is, the set of relationships that each individual creates by interacting with the environment and others. The family, for example, is a system in which the various members, with their individual characteristics and roles, constitute interdependent elements. In this perspective, systemic-relational therapy is centered on analyzing the roles and internal communication modes of the system, so as to view psychological distress from a different perspective and arrive at new possible solutions.
